We are a leading multinational conglomerate with diversified interest in the key sectors of the economy. As part of the efforts to reorganize long-term plans and expansion, we are recruiting to fill the senior level position below:

Job Title: Senior Lawyer

Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities

• Monitor legal risk in real estate documentation and advise clients accordingly.
• Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for real estate transactions.
• Draft and negotiate property/real estate transactions.
• Prepare Lease Agreements, Deeds of Assignment, Licenses and addenda to principal lease agreements, etc.
• Provide legal guidance across property acquisition, project finance, tokenization and investor syndication
• Identify and manage risks while enabling fast deal execution
• Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before transactions are executed.
• Manage regulatory and compliance-related services. Preferred candidates shall have good relationship at the relevant government circles
• Represent the company in purchase and sale of properties.
• Defend the company in litigation.
• Support legal and general advisory needs associated with a large-scale real estate portfolio.

Required Qualification, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Law - LL.B (Second Class Upper Division) from a reputable university.
• Master's Degree in Law (LLM) will be an added advantage.
• Should be a highly experienced, competent, result-oriented, talented and self-motivated individual with excellent track record of achievement in sectors like Hospitality, Construction, Real Estate, FMCG and Banking
• Strong experience in real estate law and industry, knowledge that includes litigation, lease transactions, property management, and purchase and sale transactions.
• Proven experience in Commercial Law and Infrastructure transactions.
• Good understanding of Foreclosure.
• Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
• Natural leader who displays sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Capable networker with excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills.
• Knowledge of, and familiarity with, operations in government and regulatory circles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
