Job Title: Warehouse Assistant Intern (NYSC)

Location: Alaro City, Epe, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Spare Parts & Consumables
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Parts & Inventory Manager

Job Summary

  • The Warehouse Assistant Intern supports warehouse and inventory operations within a heavy machinery company by assisting in the handling, storage, and movement of machinery parts, tools, equipment, and consumables.
  • The intern will gain practical experience in spare parts management, inventory control, logistics coordination, and warehouse safety procedures related to heavy equipment operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming machinery parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Support the proper identification, labeling, and storage of heavy machinery spare parts and accessories.
  • Assist in issuing parts and materials to technicians, engineers, and operational teams.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records and update stock movement logs.
  • Participate in periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation exercises.
  • Ensure warehouse shelves, racks, and storage areas are clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist with loading and unloading heavy equipment parts and materials under supervision.
  • Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the Warehouse Supervisor promptly.
  • Support documentation of delivery notes, waybills, invoices, and goods received notes (GRNs).
  • Observe and comply with all warehouse safety regulations and PPE requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages of critical spare parts.
  • Carry out other warehouse and logistics duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor’s degree student/graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Interest in warehouse operations, heavy equipment, or industrial logistics.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management is an added advantage.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment when required.
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.
