Job Title: Sous Chef

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations within a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • The ideal candidate must possess strong culinary expertise, leadership ability, and a commitment to maintaining high food quality and hygiene standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and managing daily kitchen operations
  • Supervise food preparation, cooking, and presentation standards
  • Coordinate kitchen activities during service periods
  • Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and food quality
  • Monitor food production to maintain high-quality output
  • Supervise, train, and support kitchen assistants and junior staff
  • Enforce food hygiene, safety, and proper storage standards
  • Assist with menu planning, recipe development, inventory, and waste control
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Kitchen efficiency and smooth service operations
  • Staff supervision and team performance
  • Food safety and hygiene compliance
  • Food quality and presentation consistency
  • Inventory management and waste control

Requirements

  • Minimum of HND in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field
  • Culinary certification is an added advantage
  • 3–5 years’ experience in hospitality or restaurant operations
  • Strong knowledge of local and continental dishes
  • Excellent kitchen leadership and time management skills
  • Good understanding of food hygiene, inventory management, and kitchen HSE
  • Ability to work collaboratively and perform under pressure.

Benefits

  • Salary: N250,000 – N300,000 Monthly.
