Job Title: Warehouse Assistant

Location: Epe (Alaro City), Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting warehouse operations in a heavy machinery and equipment environment.
  • The role involves receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining heavy equipment parts, tools, and materials while ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in all warehouse activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming machinery parts, tools and equipment against delivery notes and purchase orders.
  • Load and unload equipment parts and materials safely using appropriate handling equipment.
  • Organize and store spare parts, components, and consumables in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare parts and materials for dispatch to sites, workshops, or customers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock movement in the warehouse management system.
  • Conduct routine stock counts and assist in periodic inventory audits.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Ensure proper labeling and identification of machinery parts and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety within the warehouse and storage areas.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Assist technicians and engineers in locating and issuing required spare parts and tools.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and lifting devices where authorized.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of OND or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous warehouse or storekeeping experience, preferably in a heavy machinery, construction, engineering, or industrial environment.
  • Basic knowledge of machinery spare parts and warehouse operations is an advantage.
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory handling.
  • Basic computer knowledge, especially inventory or ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.

  • Requires standing, lifting, bending, and moving items regularly.
