Lead British International School Limited (LBIS) is a Co-educational model school established by intelligent and seasoned academics and educational administrators who commonly share the vision of giving back to the nation’s educational system. LBIS caters for day students from crèche to 18 years and currently has over a thousand students with 400 boarding students in its secondary school. Job Title: Hostel Parent
Location: Osun
Role Description
- The Hostel Parent will oversee the daily operations and welfare of students residing in the boarding facility.
- Responsibilities include ensuring the safety, discipline, and well-being of all boarders, providing emotional and academic support, maintaining a nurturing and structured environment, and organizing recreational and extracurricular activities.
- The Hostel Parent will also monitor students’ adherence to schedules, liaise with school staff and parents, and facilitate a positive living experience.
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in Oshogbo.
Qualifications
- Supervisory and leadership skills to effectively manage students and maintain discipline.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to provide emotional support, guidance, and mentoring to students in a boarding environment.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills to manage daily operations and handle unexpected situations effectively.
- First aid training or a willingness to obtain certification is advantageous.
- Experience working with children or in a residential care setting is preferred.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the needs of young people living away from home.
- A degree or diploma in education, counseling, social work, or a related field is beneficial.
- An understanding of child safeguarding practices and a commitment.
