Core Responsibilities
Strategic Origination & Client Acquisition:
- Identify, develop, and onboard a minimum of four top corporate clients annually, prioritizing organizations with strong financial performance, sound governance structures, and high credit ratings.
- Develop sector-specific client acquisition strategies aligned to industry trends and bank growth priorities.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of bankable opportunities across assigned sectors.
Value Chain & Ecosystem Development:
- Design and execute a full value chain banking strategy for each top client.
- Onboard a minimum of ten (10) key distributors, suppliers, or ecosystem partners per corporate relationship.
- Promote supply chain financing solutions, distributor financing, and vendor support structures to deepen market penetration.
Portfolio Growth & Revenue Generation:
- Grow and manage a high-quality corporate loan portfolio with strong risk-adjusted returns.
Maximize wallet share through cross-selling of treasury products, including:
- Trade Finance (LCs, Guarantees, Supply Chain Finance)
- Foreign Exchange solutions
- Cash Management and Payments
- Deliver consistent revenue growth across interest and non-interest income streams.
Liability Mobilization:
- Drive the mobilization of low-cost deposits (CASA) across corporate clients and their value chains.
- Maintain an optimal CASA-to-Term Deposit mix of 80:20.
- Develop innovative liquidity and cash concentration solutions for corporate clients.
Credit & Risk Management:
- Conduct in-depth credit analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment for all lending opportunities.
- Structure and recommend credit facilities in line with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure continuous monitoring of portfolio health, early warning signals, and compliance with covenants.
Relationship Management & Client Retention:
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for key corporate accounts.
- Build strong, long-term partnerships with decision-makers and senior executives.
- Deliver tailored financial solutions aligned with clients’ strategic objectives.
Sector Expertise & Market Intelligence:
Develop deep expertise in assigned sector(s), including:
- Manufacturing & Industrial Value Chains
- Infrastructure & Project Finance
- Energy (Oil & Gas, Renewables)
- Telecommunications
- Conglomerates & Multinationals
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive activity to inform business strategy.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACCA, ICAN, CIS) are an added advantage.
Experience & Competencies:
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience managing large corporate relationships within a Corporate Banking Group.
Demonstrated track record in:
- Deal origination and structuring
- Value chain financing
- Portfolio growth and revenue delivery
Strong knowledge of:
- Credit analysis and financial modeling
- Structured trade finance and project finance
- Corporate and investment banking products
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
