Job Title: Fine Art Teacher

Job Summary 

• A Fine Art Teacher instructs students in visual arts techniques—such as painting, drawing, and sculpture—while fostering creativity, art history knowledge, and critical thinking.
• Key duties include developing curricula, managing art supplies, conducting demonstrations, grading projects, and organizing exhibitions. They often tailor lessons to various skill levels to promote self-expression.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction & Curriculum:Plan and deliver lessons on art techniques (e.g., oil painting, charcoal, watercolor), art history, and aesthetics.
• Demonstration:Actively demonstrate drawing and painting techniques to students.
• Classroom Management:Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring studio environment, including the proper care and inventory of tools and materials.
• Assessment:Evaluate student artwork based on technical skill, creativity, and development.
• Support & Development:Guide students in developing portfolios and provide mentorship for those interested in arts careers.

Common Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (BFA) or Art Education.
• Teaching certification/licensure for the relevant age group.
• Understanding of educational psychology and student development.

• Artistic Proficiency:Strong skills in various media (painting, drawing, sculpture).
• Classroom Management:Ability to manage student behavior and create an inclusive environment.
• Creativity & Patience:Fostering a supportive atmosphere for artistic exploration.

Physical and Safety Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods and move around a classroom.
• Ensuring proper handling and storage of art materials (paints, solvents, cutting tools).
