Job Summary

• As an Agriculture Teacher you will instructstudents on agricultural science, food production, and natural resources while fostering leadership skills through FFA (Future Farmers of America).
• They create engaging lesson plans covering subjects like animal science and sustainable farming, manage school laboratories, and conduct practical, hands-on learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction: Develop and deliver lesson plans on topics such as crop production, livestock management, soil science, agricultural technology, and agri-business.
• FFA Advisory: Advise local FFA chapters, which involves training career development teams, managing student projects, and preparing students for competitions and leadership conferences.
• Hands-on Training: Supervise school greenhouses, farms, or laboratory facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and animal welfare standards.
• Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE): Oversee students' practical, work-based learning projects.
• Curriculum Development: Integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) principles into agricultural education.

Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Education, Agricultural Science, or a closely related field.
• Certification: Valid state teaching certification/licensure to teach agriculture.
• Skills: Strong communication, student mentorship, and laboratory management skills.
• Conducting classroom lectures and practical lab sessions.
• Organizing field trips and agricultural industry visits.
• Mentoring students in leadership and life skills.
• Working with parents, community members, and industry professionals.
