Job Title: Class Teacher

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary 

• As a Class Teacher you will beresponsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons to foster student academic development and well-being in line with curriculum standards.
• Key duties include managing classroom behavior, tracking student progress, creating engaging lesson plans, and communicating with parents.

Core Responsibilities

• Planning and Instruction:Developing and implementing lesson plans (schemes of work) that meet curriculum standards.
• Classroom Management:Maintaining a safe, orderly, and positive environment, enforcing school rules to foster learning.
• Assessment and Reporting:Evaluating student progress, marking work, and providing feedback through reports and parent-teacher meetings.
• Individual Support:Identifying and supporting students with specific needs, including Gifted and Talented or Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Resources and Technology:Preparing classroom materials and integrating technology to enhance instruction.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education:A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject.
• Certification:Valid state-level teacher certification or licensure.
• Communication:Excellent verbal and written skills for interacting with students, staff, and parents.
• Classroom Management:Strong interpersonal skills to manage student behavior.
• Adaptability:Ability to adjust teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs.

Key Performance Indicators

• Student proficiency in subject matter.
• Positive classroom behavior and engagement rates.
• Completion of mandated curriculum goals.

Typical Tasks

• Assigning homework and grading.
• Supervising students during non-classroom time (e.g., recess, lunch).
• Participating in staff meetings and professional development.
