We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Optometrist

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect any eye health issues.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids as needed to correct vision.
• Diagnose and treat eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as LASIK or cataract surgery.
• Educate patients about proper eye care practices, including the use of eyewear and contact lenses.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and opticians, to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry and incorporate new technologies and techniques into practice.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) Degree from an accredited optometry school.
• Current state license to practice optometry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Experience in conducting eye examinations and diagnosing eye conditions.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in optometry.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassion and empathy for patients, especially those with vision impairments.
