Job Title: Islamic Religious Studies (IRS) Teacher 

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• As an Islamic Religious Studies (IRS) teacher you will instructstudents on Islamic history, beliefs, morals, and Quranic studies, often for elementary or secondary levels.
• Key responsibilities include creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, fostering a positive classroom environment, and promoting Islamic values.

Core Responsibilities

• Lesson Planning & Instruction: Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in IRS based on the school's curriculum.
• Student Assessment: Continuously monitor, assess, and record student performance through tests, assignments, and exams.
• Classroom Management: Establish a safe, respectful, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Moral Education: Teach Islamic morals, values, and principles in line with the curriculum.
• Collaboration: Work with other teachers, staff, and parents to support students' personal and academic development.
• Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in school activities, meetings, and training.

Key Performance Indicators

• Improved student attainment in Islamic Studies.
• Maintained student engagement and participation levels.
• Timely and accurate student assessment reporting.
• Effective classroom management to minimize disruption.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Islamic Religious Studies, Arabic Studies, or a related field.
• Experience: Previous experience teaching IRS, particularly at the elementary level, is highly preferred.
• Certification: TRCN certification may be an added advantage in Nigeria.
• Competencies: Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
