Job Summary

  • The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding the company’s customer base, establishing distribution outlets, and developing strategic partnerships for the company’sss frozen food products.
  • The ideal candidate will lead market expansion efforts by identifying new business opportunities, securing bulk buyers, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, distributors, and setting up profitable sales outlets across Lagos and its environs.
  • The role also involves increasing product visibility, improving market penetration, and ensuring consistent revenue generation for the business.
  • This role is highly target-oriented and performance-driven. The ideal candidate must be result-focused, aggressive in market expansion, and capable of delivering measurable sales growth.
  • The position is also highly rewarding with attractive incentives tied to performance and target achievement.

Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Sales:

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new customers, distributors, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, fast food outlets, and bulk buyers for the company’s frozen chicken and agro products.
  • Develop and execute aggressive sales and market expansion strategies to increase company revenue and product penetration.
  • Set up and manage new sales outlets, distribution channels, and retail partnerships across strategic locations.
  • Drive daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets and ensure achievement of revenue goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and business partners.
  • Prepare and present business proposals, partnership offers, and pricing packages to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and supply agreements with distributors, retailers, and institutional buyers.
  • Ensure products are properly positioned in the market to maximize visibility and sales performance.
  • Conduct market surveys and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities, pricing trends, and customer demands within the agro and frozen food sector.
  • Recommend new market opportunities, product distribution strategies, and outlet expansion plans.
  • Monitor customer feedback and work closely with operations to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality.
  • Develop strategies to retain customers and increase repeat business.
  • Coordinate promotional activities, field marketing, and brand awareness campaigns.
  • Ensure all outlets and distributors maintain the company’s product handling and storage standards.
  • Track sales performance, customer acquisition, outlet performance, and market growth.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and business performance updates for Management.
  • Represent the company at trade fairs, market activations, exhibitions, and business networking events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Agriculture, or any related field.
  • Must have 3–5 years proven experience in business development, FMCG sales, agro-processing, frozen foods, or distribution business.
  • Strong understanding of the Lagos market, distribution network, and retail environment.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Experience in setting up outlets, managing distributors, or expanding market presence is highly preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
