Polaris Bank Limited is a Tier II Nigerian bank that was established by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on September 21, 2018 to offer commercial banking services, the bank commenced services on the same day, having purchased the assets, and assumed certain of the liabilities, of the defunct Skye Bank.

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled Back-End Developer to design, develop, and maintain server-side applications and systems.
  • The role involves building scalable and secure backend solutions, managing databases, and ensuring seamless integration with front-end applications.
  • Back-End Developers are responsible for creating the infrastructure that powers web and mobile applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and data integrity.

Key Result Areas

  • Develop and maintain server-side logic and application components
  • Design, implement, and manage databases and data storage systems
  • Build and maintain APIs (RESTful / GraphQL) for system integration.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues
  • Implement security and data protection measures
  • Optimize applications for speed and efficiency
  • Conduct testing to ensure system functionality before and after deployment
  • Provide technical documentation and updates to stakeholders

Qualification and Experience

  • ​Proficiency in backend programming languages such as:

  • Understanding of server architecture and web application frameworks
