Job Title: Head, ICT

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Key  Responsibilities 

  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the performance of the hospital's IT systems and operations.
  • Ensure alignment with clinical and operational objectives
  • Ensure full compliance with national and international healthcare regulations (e.g.,
  • Health Insurance Portabuity, and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), Nigena Data Protection Regulation (NDPR)
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to safeguard patient data integrity and confidentiality
  • Oversee regular data backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Lead the planning and execution of IT projects, including software upgrades, system Integrations, and infrastructure development. Partner with clinical and administrative teams to identify and implement technology driven solutions that improve patient care and hospital efficiency.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
  • Provide advanced technical support and resolve complex ICT issues affecting hospital operations.
  • Supervise the helpdesk function to ensure timely support for all users.
  • Develop, update, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with hospital standards.
  • Prepare and manage the ICT budget. Evaluate and manage vendor relationships, including procurement and contract oversight
  • Lead and mentor the ICT team.

Job Requirements
Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years progressive experience in ICT management in a senior role, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity network administration, and compliance with healthcare IT regulations. Strong understanding of healthcare technologies including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS).
  • Familiarity with the Hyella software is essential
  • Proficiency in managing cloud infrastructure, data privacy, and enterprise networks.
  • Proven leadership ability, with a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and projects
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving. and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Culturally sensitive with the ability to work effectively in diverse team settings High standards of integrity, Accountability, and confidentiality
  • Resilient, proactive, and results oriented, detail-focused with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Strong computer skills are essential.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in the medical field would be an advantage.
