Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer

About the Role
- We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer to support field operations at the Flow Station.
- The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with company HSE standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while promoting a strong safety culture across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all company HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Communicate HSE expectations to employees and contractors on site
- Conduct daily site inspections, tours, and safety observations
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports
- Review contractor HSE plans, JHAs, PTWs, and related documentation
- Conduct pre-mob inspections of contractor equipment and personnel certifications
- Support emergency preparedness and coordinate drills and evacuation procedures
- Monitor fire and gas detection systems and safety-critical equipment
- Ensure compliance with Management of Change (MOC) procedures
- Maintain oil spill response readiness and coordinate spill response activities
- Participate in regulatory inspections and audits (DPR, NOSDRA, etc.)
- Coordinate incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking
- Oversee Permit to Work (PTW) systems and ensure proper close-out
- Monitor lifting operations and other safety-critical activities
- Maintain HSE registers, incident records, and risk assessments
- Facilitate HSE committee meetings and toolbox talks
- Support operational safety studies and continuous improvement initiatives
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- HSE regulatory compliance performance
- Lost Time Injury (LTI/LTA) and incident rates
- Accuracy and timeliness of HSE reporting
- Quality of inspections and investigations
- Effectiveness of risk management processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Sciences, Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HSE role in the Oil & Gas industry
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (added advantage)
- Knowledge of oil & gas safety regulations and operational standards
- Familiarity with ISO, OSHA, ISM, and ISPS standards.
Remuneration
N800,000 - N1,000,000 / Month (Above industry standard)
