Job Title: Chief Operating Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Key Responsibilties

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning Collaborate with The Medical Director and C-suit executives in developing and executing operational strategies.
  • Lead long-term organizational planning and international partnership alignment.
  • Drive accreditation processes and ensure compliance with JCI and similar standards.
  • Oversee all service lines, including inpatient/outpatient care, diagnostics, surgical services, pharmacy, and nursing.
  • Ensure effective workflow, process integration, and interdepartmental synergy. Monitor and report on KPIs for operational efficiency and clinical performance.
  • Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, cost control, revenue management, and financial planning.
  • Ensure optimal use of resources and long- term sustainability.
  • Drive employee engagement, training, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusiveness, and continuous learning.
  • Active role in risk management and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with staff, regulatory bodies, partners, and global healthcare collaborators.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field (Master's degree or MBA is an added advantage).
  • Certification or experience with healthcare accreditation (e.g., Jared.
  • Minimum of 20 years post graduate experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a senior healthcare administrative or operational management role.
  • Proven leadership in managing tertiary hospital operations or similar healthcare facilities.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare regulations, NHIS operations, and Nigerian health sector dynamics.
  • Proficiency in hospital management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with capability to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build collaborative teams.
