Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist (Heamatologist)

Job Description

  • The Medical Laboratory Scientist (Haematology) will be responsible for conducting routine and specialized haematology investigations to support accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and quality patient care while ensuring compliance with established laboratory and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized haematology tests and procedures.
  • Analyze, interpret, and validate laboratory test results accurately.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment where necessary.
  • Collect, process, and properly store blood samples and related specimens.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality assurance, infection prevention, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records.
  • Collaborate effectively with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to support patient management.
  • Participate in quality control activities and continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.

Requirements

  • BMLS in Medical Laboratory Science with specialization in Haematology.
  • Valid and current MLSCN practicing license.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
