Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Ibafo, Ogun

Job Summary

  • Suminter Nigeria Limited⁠ is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic financial support to management.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, tax management, payroll supervision, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
  • Supervise daily accounting operations including receivables, payables, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  • Monitor company cash flow and provide financial recommendations to management.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate tax filings including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and Company Income Tax.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies when necessary.
  • Monitor internal controls and implement improvements where required.
  • Oversee payroll processing and salary reconciliations.
  • Provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Ensure timely preparation of management reports and financial schedules.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ACA is mandatory.
  • 5–8 years proven accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, production, or corporate environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
