Job Summary

• Oyomesi Specialist Hospital is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Laboratory Technician to join our healthcare team.
• The ideal candidate must be competent, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering accurate laboratory services that support quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, label, and process patient specimens appropriately.
• Conduct routine laboratory investigations and diagnostic tests in accordance with standard procedures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment effectively.
• Prepare reagents and ensure proper handling of laboratory samples.
• Record, document, and report laboratory results accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory environment.
• Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control guidelines.
• Ensure proper disposal of laboratory waste according to safety standards.
• Monitor laboratory consumables and report shortages promptly.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients’ information and laboratory records.
• Report equipment malfunction or abnormal findings to the appropriate authority.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years working experience as a Laboratory Technician.
• Relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology/Science or related field.
• Valid practicing license/certification where applicable.
• Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and record-keeping ability.
