A professional organisation in Nigeria's Federal Capital City, Abuja, with branches across the federation, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Media & Corporate Communications Officer

Location: Abuja

About The Role

  • The Media & Corporate Communications Officer is part of the Corporate Services team responsible for driving the organisation's advocacy, publicity and other external relations programmes through high-quality strategic communication in the mass media and digital content development.
  • The role ensures consistent brand representation, effective dissemination of information and enhanced stakeholder engagement across all media plations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Content Development and Editorial Support:

  • Develop content and news reports for newsletters, magazines, website updates.
  • Generate formal speeches for various events for the leadership of the organisation.
  • Develop advocacy letters and Ensure all communication materials are clear, accurate and professionally presented.

Creative Development:

  • Design and create high-quality content for visual materials including flyers, banners, brochures, infographics and presentation templates.
  • Develop creative concepts for conferences, public lectures, campaigns, and institutional programmes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to organization branding guidelines in all visual outputs.

Digital and Social Media Management:

  • Manage and update the organisation's digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, and X (formerly Twitter).
  • Create and publish engaging content to promote the organisations activities and iniliatives.
  • Monitor digital engagement metrics and prepare periodic performance reports.

Media Coverage and Public Relations Support:

  • Provide media coverage for the organisation's events (reportage photography, videography and live updates).
  • Support the preparation of press releases, announcements and publicity materials.
  • Liaise with media organizations to enhance visibility of the organisation's programmes.

Brand Management and Corporate Identity:

  • Maintain consistency in the use of organisation's visual identity (logos, colours, fonts and messaging).
  • Support the development and enforcement of corporate branding standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, English and Literary Studies or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in the media or corporate communications industry.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
