Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary

  • The ideal candidate must possess strong accounting knowledge, financial reporting experience, and exposure to operational accounting within structured business environments.
  • This role requires a highly organized professional who can support financial accuracy, compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and operational finance activities while ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Prepare journal entries, invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and supporting financial documentation.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and account balance reviews.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Assist in preparing management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor project expenditures, cost allocations, and budget utilization across departments and projects.
  • Maintain accurate schedules for receivables, payables, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
  • Support tax computations, statutory remittances, and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Assist with internal and external audit activities by providing required schedules and supporting documents.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company financial procedures.
  • Support ERP / accounting software usage and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor vendor payments, invoice processing, and contract-related financial obligations.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 3 – 5 years relevant accounting experience in a structured organization.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, engineering, logistics, procurement, or industrial sectors is an added advantage.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, bookkeeping, and accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or ERP systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Salary
N240,000 - N300,000 monthly.
