We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Purchasing Officer

Location: Lagos 

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning and Execution:

• Receive and review purchase requisitions from departments.
• Identify and evaluate suitable suppliers and vendors.
• Obtain quotations and compare prices, specifications, and delivery timelines.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely processing.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure prompt delivery of goods and services.

Vendor Management:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Conduct supplier performance evaluations.
• Maintain an up-to-date supplier database.

Cost Management:

• Seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.
• Analyse market trends and pricing to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Ensure purchases are made within approved budgets.

Inventory Coordination:

• Work closely with stores and user departments to monitor stock levels.
• Ensure timely replenishment of materials and supplies.
• Assist in preventing stock shortages and overstocking.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
• Ensure all procurement documents are properly filed and easily retrievable.
• Prepare periodic procurement reports.

Compliance and Controls:

• Ensure procurement activities comply with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Verify that goods and services received meet required specifications.
• Support internal and external audits by providing procurement documentation.

Market Research:

• Conduct market surveys to identify new suppliers and pricing trends.
• Recommend alternative products or vendors where appropriate.
