Job Title: Coating QA / QC Manager

Location: Choba, Port Harcourt, Rivers

Overview

• The QA / QC Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and quality control activities in pipe coating operations, specifically concrete weight coating (CWC) and three-layer polyethylene (3LPE) coating.
• This role ensures compliance with client specifications, international standards, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining documentation and delivering As-Built Data Packages for project handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance Planning: Develop and implement QA/QC plans for concrete and 3LPE coating projects.
• Inspection & Testing: Supervise coating inspections, adhesion tests, holiday detection, thickness measurements, and concrete compressive strength tests.
• Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to ISO, ASTM, DIN, and client-specific standards for coating quality.
• Documentation: Prepare inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective action plans, and maintain QA/QC records.
• As-Built Data Package Preparation: Compile final coating records, test certificates, calibration reports, and updated drawings for client handover.
• Team Supervision: Lead QA/QC inspectors and technicians, assign tasks, and provide training.
• Client & Third-Party Coordination: Liaise with clients, auditors, and third-party inspectors during coating operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvements to enhance coating quality and reduce defects.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
• 8 years of QA/QC experience in pipe coating, with specialization in Concrete Weight Coating and 3LPE coating.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 21809 and other relevant coating standards.
• Familiarity with NDT methods (holiday detection, ultrasonic thickness, adhesion testing).
• Experience preparing As-Built Data Packages for client handover.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
