Job Title: Pastry Chef

Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: One-day off per week

Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced and creative Pastry Chef to join the team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, cakes, and baked treats while maintaining excellent presentation, hygiene, and kitchen standards.
  • The successful candidate must be passionate about baking, recipe development, and dessert presentation, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare and decorate cakes using fondant, buttercream, whipped cream, ganache, and themed designs
  • Produce puff pastries including croissants, pain au chocolat, Danish pastries, and cinnamon rolls
  • Prepare desserts such as cheesecakes, parfaits, mousse, tiramisu, brownies, waffles, and pancakes
  • Produce pastries, baked treats, cookies, and small chops
  • Bake breads including artisan bread, burger buns, sandwich loaves, dinner rolls, and soft bread
  • Develop creative recipes and improve dessert presentation standards
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and portioning
  • Maintain cleanliness, food hygiene, and kitchen safety standards
  • Monitor baking ingredients and kitchen inventory
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely production and delivery
  • Operate and maintain baking equipment properly.

Qualifications

  • Professional training or certification in Pastry Arts, Baking, or Culinary Arts is an advantage
  • Previous experience in a bakery, restaurant, hotel, or pastry kitchen preferred.

  • Skilled in cake decoration and pastry production

  • Knowledge of chocolate work and dessert plating is an added advantage
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
