Job Title: Wait Staff
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Main Function
- The Wait Staff is responsible for delivering exceptional front-of-house customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment.
- The role focuses on maximizing customer satisfaction, maintaining speed and accuracy in service, and supporting overall restaurant operations.
Role Responsibilities
Customer Service & Order Management:
- Greet customers warmly, present menus, and provide detailed information on food items, ingredients, and daily specials.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using the restaurant’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Upsell additional menu items, desserts, or beverages to maximize sales revenue.
- Deliver orders promptly from the kitchen/service counter to customer tables with high attention to detail.
Dining Area Maintenance & Hygiene:
- Clear, clean, and sanitize tables, chairs, and booths immediately after customer departures.
- Ensure the dining area, condiment stations, and restrooms are clean, well-stocked, and presentable at all times.
- Set up tables with appropriate cutlery, napkins, and glassware according to brand standards.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including sweeping, mopping, and resetting the dining room floor.
Quality Control & Food Safety:
- Verify that food and beverage orders match customer requests before serving.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations in the dining area.
- Report any food quality issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards immediately to the Shift Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Issue Resolution & Team Support:
- Address customer complaints, inquiries, or dietary requests promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues to management when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff and cashiers to ensure a smooth, synchronized flow of service.
- Assist in other operational areas, such as the cash register or packing takeout orders, during peak hours as needed.
Experience / Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a certification in Hospitality or Food Service is a plus.
- 1–2 years of experience as a waiter/waitress, preferably within a fast-casual, fast food, or quick-service restaurant (QSR) environment.
- Proven experience handling cash registers and POS operating systems.
Competencies / Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong active listening and memory skills for handling complex orders.
- Basic math skills for handling cash, processing payments, and calculating change.
- Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask efficiently.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a fast-moving team.

- Ability to remain calm, polite, and efficient under pressure during peak dining hours.
