Job Summary
- We are hiring a Business Development Executive to grow sales of our farm produce to restaurants, hotels, caterers, and other commercial buyers across Lagos.
- The role mixes desk work with frequent field activity: building new relationships, managing existing accounts, closing sales, and ensuring timely delivery of quality produce.
Key responsibilities
- Build new business relationships and manage existing accounts with restaurants, hotels, caterers, and other agro-allied buyers.
- Drive profitable sales of farm produce and meet agreed revenue targets.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of customers through networking, cold outreach, and marketing efforts.
- Use modern technology (CRM, WhatsApp, email marketing, digital catalogues) to enhance sales and customer service.
- Meet customers on-site to assess needs and recommend suitable products or services.
- Prepare and deliver compelling product presentations and samples.
- Implement approved sales plans and field strategies to achieve targets.
- Attend industry conferences, trade expos, and local events to generate leads.
- Maintain accurate expense records for tracking and reimbursement.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure produce is delivered per customer requests and timelines.
- Confidently represent the quality of our produce and service.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly business development reports.
- Collect customer feedback, analyze issues, and propose solutions to improve satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations; conduct market research to inform sales tactics.
- Handle company and customer information with strict confidentiality.
Skills and qualifications
- HND, or B.Sc Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, Marketing, or related fields
- Prior sales or business development experience in the agro-allied industry is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills; target-oriented and self-motivated.
- Strong analytical and numerical aptitude for pricing and order tracking.
- Basic driving skills and valid driver’s license required.
- Proficiency with mobile apps, CRM tools, and digital communication platforms.
Salary
N400,000 - N700,000 monthly.
