Job Title: General Manager (GM)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager (GM) to lead the operations, business growth, and brand positioning of a fast-growing fashion house in Abuja.
  • The ideal candidate must possess strong marketing expertise, excellent business leadership skills, and prior exposure to multinational business environments or international brands.
  • The GM will be responsible for driving revenue growth, overseeing operations, strengthening brand visibility, and ensuring exceptional customer experience across all business touchpoints.
  • This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the fashion, luxury, or lifestyle industry and the ability to manage both creative and commercial operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities
Business & Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute business strategies to drive profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Lead the overall operations of the fashion house, ensuring smooth day-to-day management.
  • Identify business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Drive organizational performance and ensure achievement of revenue targets.

Marketing & Brand Management:

  • Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to strengthen brand awareness and market presence.
  • Oversee digital marketing, social media campaigns, influencer collaborations, PR activities, and brand partnerships.
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning across all customer touchpoints.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to guide marketing initiatives.
  • Create strategies that enhance customer acquisition, retention, and overall customer experience.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee retail/store operations, production coordination, inventory management, and customer service standards.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and implementation of best practices across departments.
  • Monitor business performance metrics and prepare management reports.
  • Implement systems and structures to improve productivity and operational effectiveness.

Financial & Commercial Oversight:

  • Manage budgets, financial planning, and cost control measures.
  • Drive sales performance and profitability across all business units.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to monitor revenue growth and business performance.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, retail, and customer service teams.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on excellence, creativity, and accountability.
  • Support talent development and employee engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Fashion Management, or related field.
  • MBA or relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
  • 8–10 years of experience in management, marketing, or commercial leadership roles.
  • Prior experience in the fashion, retail, luxury, or lifestyle industry is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to multinational organizations, international brands, or global business operations is required.
  • Strong background in marketing, brand strategy, and business development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of fashion business operations and customer experience management.
  • Commercially savvy with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
