Description

• A Chief Operating Officer (COO)/ General Manager in chemical manufacturingdirects end-to-end production, safety (EHS), supply chain, and quality assurance to drive efficiency and growth.
• They oversee multi-plant operations, implement, or improve, technologies like Lean/Six Sigma and, often, automation systems.
• Key focus areas include cost leadership, regulatory compliance, capital projects, and strategic partnership with the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Directs production, maintenance, and engineering across multiple sites to meet volume, cost, and quality goals.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensures strict adherence to environmental regulations and safety standards (EHS).
• Supply Chain Management: Oversees procurement, logistics, inventory, and warehousing.
• Strategic Growth: Partners with the CEO on capacity expansion, capital projects, and business transformation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Business; an MBA is often preferred.
• Experience: 10–15+ years of progressive, senior-level manufacturing leadership.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems, digital tools, and data analysis for operational dashboards.
• Competencies: Strong leadership, ability to manage, and regulatory knowledge.
