Job Summary

• We are seeking a smart, detail-oriented, and passionate Cosmetic Science Assistant to support cosmetic formulation, laboratory activities, product testing, and skincare product development processes.
• The ideal candidate will assist the Cosmetic Scientist and production team in research, formulation trials, raw material handling, documentation, and product testing while ensuring laboratory organization and compliance with quality standards.
• This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in cosmetic science, skincare development, and laboratory operations who is eager to grow within the cosmetic and personal care industry.

Job Scope

• The Cosmetic Science Assistant will support daily cosmetic research and formulation activities by assisting with ingredient preparation, laboratory processes, formulation trials, documentation, and product testing.
• The role focuses on assisting with cosmetic product development, maintaining laboratory organization, supporting quality checks, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout formulation and testing processes.
• The successful candidate will work closely with the Cosmetic Scientist, production team, and quality control personnel to support the development of safe, effective, and high-quality cosmetic products.

Key Responsibilities
Formulation & Laboratory Support:

• Assist with cosmetic and skincare formulation trials
• Prepare raw materials and laboratory samples for testing and production
• Support laboratory operations and maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Assist in measuring, mixing, and recording formulation batches

Product Testing & Documentation:

• Support product stability and compatibility testing
• Maintain accurate formulation and laboratory records
• Assist with documentation of formulations, test results, and product evaluations
• Monitor product samples and assist with quality checks

Inventory & Raw Material Coordination:

• Monitor laboratory inventory and raw material usage
• Assist with stock organization and ingredient labeling
• Support inventory tracking for laboratory and formulation materials
• Report low stock levels and assist with procurement coordination

Operational & Administrative Support:

• Assist the Cosmetic Scientist with research and operational tasks
• Support compliance with laboratory safety and hygiene procedures
• Assist with packaging trials, sample preparation, and internal testing activities
• Coordinate with production and quality teams where necessary

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cosmetic Science, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field
• 2–3 years of experience in a cosmetic laboratory, skincare production environment, or formulation support role
• Experience supporting cosmetic formulation or laboratory operations is an added advantage
• Basic understanding of cosmetic science or skincare formulation
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and product testing processes
• Understanding of ingredient handling and formulation documentation
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good record-keeping and documentation skills
• Ability to follow procedures and instructions carefully

Salary
N200,000 - N300,000 monthly.
