Job Title: Subject Teacher

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• A Subject Teacher is responsible for teaching students in a specific subject area, preparing lesson plans, evaluating student performance, and creating a positive learning environment that supports academic growth and discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver engaging lessons according to the curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Assess and evaluate students through assignments, tests, and examinations.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance and performance.
• Provide guidance and support to students academically and socially.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure discipline.
• Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and school activities.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about students’ progress when necessary.
• Use appropriate teaching methods and educational technology to improve learning.
• Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and participation among students.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant subject area.
• Teaching certification / license (where applicable).
• Strong knowledge of the subject being taught.
• Good communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students.
• Patience, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Previous teaching experience may be an advantage.
