TAAS Group of Schools is a school made up of Nursery, Primary, and Secondary schools. The school's academic programme is divided into two sections: the Quran and Arabic section, which is handled by specific teachers, and the Western educational section, which is handled by different teachers.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: House Parent

Locations: Lomi, Apata, and Ibadan -  Oyo

Role Purpose

  • Provide day-to-day care, supervision, welfare, and emotional support for boarding students
  • Ensure a safe, disciplined, caring, and home-like hostel environment
  • Support students’ personal development, hygiene, wellbeing, academics, and behaviour

Core Responsibilities

  • Supervise students’ daily routines (wake-up, bathing, dressing, meals, prayers, bedtime)
  • Ensure students maintain good hygiene, cleanliness, and proper grooming
  • Monitor students’ health, emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and safety
  • Support homework, prep, and study supervision
  • Provide pastoral care, guidance, and moral support to students
  • Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to hostel rules and routines
  • Monitor hostel cleanliness, room organisation, and proper use of facilities
  • Keep records of attendance, incidents, health, welfare, and behavioural concerns
  • Liaise with school management, welfare staff, and parents on student matters

Weekly Responsibilities:

  • Conduct room and personal hygiene inspections
  • Monitor student welfare and behavioural progress
  • Submit reports on attendance, welfare, discipline, and health concerns
  • Organise student bonding, recreational, and life-skill activities
  • Participate in hostel staff meetings and welfare discussions

Termly Responsibilities:

  • Participate in orientation and settling-in of new boarders
  • Submit comprehensive student welfare and behavioural reports
  • Support hostel events, moral talks, and student development activities
  • Work with academic staff to monitor students’ academic adjustment and wellbeing
  • Support safety drills and hostel improvement activities

Annual Responsibilities:

  • Support review of hostel routines, welfare systems, and student care practices
  • Participate in staff training and boarding improvement initiatives
  • Prepare end-of-session welfare observations and recommendations
  • Support smooth student transition between classes or hostel sections.
