We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Technical Assistant (Real Estate)

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Main Function

  • The Technical Assistant (Real Estate) is responsible for providing technical, administrative, and data support to the real estate development and management team.
  • The role focuses on tracking project timelines, managing architectural and engineering documents, coordinating with contractors and city officials, and preparing operational reports to ensure real estate projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Role Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Monitoring:

  • Assist the Project Manager in tracking construction timelines, milestones, and critical deadlines for real estate developments.
  • Coordinate site visits, progress inspections, and technical meetings between internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Follow up with contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure project action items are completed on time.
  • Monitor day-to-day site progress and flag any potential delays or issues to senior management.

Document Control & Data Management:

  • Manage and organize all technical project documents, including blueprints, CAD drawings, zoning permits, and engineering specifications.
  • Maintain the digital filling system to ensure all contracts, deeds, survey plans, and building approvals are up to date and easy to access.
  • Process and track Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and submittals from contractors.

Vendor, Contractor & City Relations:

  • Act as a point of contact for external vendors, material suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting paperwork to government agencies for planning permissions, building permits, and utility connections.
  • Coordinate the bidding process by gathering and organizing price quotes from different contractors for evaluation.

Financial Tracking & Material Control:

  • Track project expenses and material invoices against the approved budget to help control costs.
  • Verify material deliveries on-site against delivery notes and purchase orders to prevent shortages or waste.
  • Assist in preparing payment certificates and invoices for subcontractor work.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including site photos, budget updates, and timeline tracking.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary technical paperwork and project history.

Experience / Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Estate Management, Building Technology, or Business Administration.
  • 2–4 years of experience in real estate development, construction, or property management support roles.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and basic knowledge of design software (AutoCAD) or Microsoft Excel.

Competencies / Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage large amounts of paperwork and digital files.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes, building materials, and real estate laws.
  • Excellent data tracking and reporting skills.
  • Good communication skills for dealing with both site workers and corporate executives.
  • Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected changes on-site or with permits.
