We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Technical Assistant

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Main Function

  • The Technical Assistant (Hospitality) is responsible for providing high-level technical, analytical, and administrative support to the hospitality management team.
  • The role focuses on tracking operational data, coordinating facility maintenance, managing special hospitality projects, and ensuring smooth communication between various departments to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency.

Role Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Support:

  • Monitor and maintain hospitality management systems (e.g., PMS/Property Management Systems, POS/Point of Sale systems, and procurement software).
  • Assist in coordinating facility maintenance, repairs, and engineering schedules to ensure zero downtime for guest services.
  • Track utility consumption (water, electricity, gas) and implement technical solutions for energy efficiency.
  • Help implement and audit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across technical and operational departments.

Project Coordination & Timeline Management:

  • Act as the project coordinator for hotel renovations, upgrades, or new system installations.
  • Liaise with external contractors, technicians, and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Track project milestones and provide regular progress updates to the senior management team.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret operational data including occupancy rates, revenue metrics (RevPAR), guest satisfaction scores, and utility costs.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly technical reports, presentations, and dashboards for executive reviews.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks through data and suggest technical or process-driven improvements.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Support regular internal audits and inspections regarding health, safety, fire regulations, and building codes.
  • Ensure all technical equipment, from kitchen appliances to HVAC systems, complies with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of licenses, permits, warranties, and service contracts.

Administrative & Communication Link:

  • Serve as the primary filter and point of contact for technical requests and inquiries directed to the executive management team.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take detailed minutes for technical and operational department reviews.
  • Follow up on action items from management meetings to ensure timely completion.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with exposure to hotel operations, maintenance coordination, or executive administrative support.
  • Proven experience working with hotel software (e.g., Opera PMS, Micros POS) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

Competencies / Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate clear reports.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of hotel building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong project management and vendor coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
