The thought of creating Terawork came to our founder in 2015 after an unpleasant experience where he engaged and worked remotely with an unknown person he met online to help complete a tech project. While it is clear he needed help from an expert for a few days, he didn’t get one. What contributed to the bad experience include lack of online platforms within the region with an end-to-end process for employing remote manpower in a flexible and safe manner.
In response, he created a process he uses repeatedly to find and engage, on on-demand basis, independent workers for his tasks. Unlike before, the process enables both himself and his independent worker trust working remotely with each other. He decided to build the process into a technology for a lot of people to benefit from.

Job Title: Finance Control & Compliance Lead

Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and disciplined Finance Control & Compliance Lead to oversee internal controls, compliance processes, financial risk prevention, and operational accountability across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve internal control frameworks and compliance processes.
- Monitor and enforce financial controls, approval processes, and segregation of duties.
- Conduct transaction reviews, stock verification, and routine control testing across finance operations.
- Identify financial risks, control gaps, and process weaknesses early and escalate appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, WHT, and other statutory obligations.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and coordinate internal and external audit processes.
- Build accurate compliance and control reports for management visibility and decision-making.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to improve accountability and operational discipline.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- ICAN certification is mandatory.
- 4–8 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, Internal Controls, or Compliance roles.
- Strong experience in FMCG, retail, distribution, or transaction-heavy environments.
- Strong knowledge of VAT, PAYE, WHT, and Nigerian statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience designing and enforcing internal controls and approval frameworks.
- Strong Excel, analytical, and reporting skills.
- High attention to detail, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
- Audit or regulatory review experience is an added advantage.
Salary
N300,000 – N400,000 monthly + Performance Incentives.
