About the Role

• We are seeking an analytical, and detail-oriented Research Analyst to join Ceviant Asset Management. This role is vital in strengthening our research capabilities by delivering clear, thoughtful insights that support decision-making and drive the firm’s growth.
• The Research Analyst will work closely with key stakeholders in the business, gathering and analyzing data from different sources to build a well-rounded view of the market. Your role will contribute to market intelligence, industry analysis, and internal reporting, helping the team stay informed, responsive, and forward-looking.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out research on macroeconomic trends, financial markets, sectors, and specific investment opportunities that are relevant to the firm’s portfolios and products.
• Review fixed income, money market, and other approved investment instruments, and use your analysis to support portfolio decisions and advisory recommendations.
• Build and maintain financial models, valuation frameworks, and performance tracking tools that help the team make well-informed investment decisions.
• Prepare investment memos, market updates, portfolio review materials, and internal research reports that clearly support decision-making.
• Keep a close eye on existing holdings and watchlists, and flag important developments, risks, or opportunities to portfolio managers and leadership.
• Review issuer financial statements, market disclosures, and economic data to assess credit quality, risk exposure, and potential returns.
• Support due diligence on new products, counterparties, and investment strategies, making sure all reviews align with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with portfolio management, wealth advisory, compliance, and operations teams to ensure research is practical, timely, and aligned with client needs.
• Stay up to date on competitor products, industry trends, and regulatory changes that may affect asset management and investment advisory activities.
• Contribute to client-facing insights, presentations, and regular investment updates when needed.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in investment research, asset management, wealth management, corporate finance, or financial advisory.
• Good understanding of financial markets, investment instruments, and macroeconomic trends.
• Strong financial analysis, research writing, and spreadsheet modelling skills.
• Ability to interpret financial statements, assess risk, and make practical recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail, good organisation, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Integrity, professionalism, and respect for confidentiality.
• Experience researching fixed income and other investment products.
• Good understanding of the Nigerian financial market and regulations.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced financial services environment.
