Aid Initiative to Support Vulnerable and Idle People (AISVIP) is committed to protection monitoring, community engagement, and evidence-based humanitarian response. AISVIP works closely with conflict-affected communities to identify protection risks, strengthen referral pathways, and inform timely protection interventions across Borno and Yobe States.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Protection Monitor

Location: Jere, Borno
Employment Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities
Protection Monitoring & Data Collection:

  • Conduct regular protection monitoring through community engagement, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and observation.
  • Identify and document protection risks, trends, and emerging issues affecting women, children, and persons with disabilities.
  • Collect and submit protection monitoring data using approved tools and digital platforms where applicable.

Community Engagement & Referrals:

  • Engage community members, leaders, and protection committees to identify risks and promote protective practices.
  • Support safe identification and referral of individuals at risk to appropriate protection services.
  • Disseminate information on available services, feedback mechanisms, and referral pathways.

Reporting & Coordination:

  • Prepare timely protection monitoring reports, alerts, and updates for the Protection Officer and Project Manager.
  • Support early-warning and response mechanisms at community level.
  • Participate in LGA-level protection coordination activities as required.

Safeguarding & Ethics:

  • Ensure all monitoring activities adhere to protection principles, confidentiality, and “do no harm” standards.
  • Promote accountability to affected populations (AAP) and safe feedback and complaint mechanisms.
