Job Brief

  • BFI Insights is seeking to engage a highly experienced, strategic, and result-oriented Operations Manager to oversee and optimize the firm’s operational, administrative, business growth and financial coordination activities. The Ops Manager will play a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence, improving internal systems, supporting business expansion, and ensuring execution across the firm’s consulting and training functions.
  • The Operations Manager should be commercially aware, solution-driven, and capable of leading teams while ensuring the firm maintains high professional and service standards across all areas of operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the firm to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery across all business units.
  • Develop, implement, and improve operational processes, policies, and internal systems to enhance productivity and accountability.
  • Supervise and manage the operational team, ensuring clear role coordination, performance monitoring, and effective task execution.
  • Ensure proper coordination and execution of consulting projects, advisory engagements, training programs, bootcamps, and cohort-based learning activities.
  • Monitor operational performance and prepare periodic reports, dashboards, and updates for management decision-making.
  • Support the development and execution of the firm’s strategic growth and expansion plans.
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend practical solutions to improve efficiency, workflow, and overall business performance.
  • Coordinate budgeting, operational planning, and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Work closely with leadership to support initiatives focused on securing grants, partnerships, donor funding, loans, and other financing opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing operational documentation, funding proposals, presentations, and reports required for investors, donors, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
  • Ensure proper documentation, record management, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee administrative activities including procurement, vendor management, facility coordination, and office operations.
  • Drive the use of operational tools, technology, and automation systems to improve efficiency and reporting processes.
  • Coordinate recruitment support, onboarding activities, staff scheduling, and operational workforce planning where required.
  • Lead and support performance management initiatives for operational staff and ensure high levels of accountability across teams.
  • Foster a professional, collaborative, and performance-driven work culture within the organization.
  • Support business development initiatives by coordinating operational requirements for proposals, client engagements, partnerships, and new opportunities.
  • Work closely with the marketing and communications team to improve the visibility, positioning, and professional presence of the firm.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagements, meetings, strategic partnerships, and corporate relationship management activities.
  • Ensure proper planning and execution of corporate events, trainings, workshops, and stakeholder sessions.
  • Monitor service quality and ensure clients, training participants, and stakeholders receive excellent professional support and experience.
  • Conduct operational and market research to support innovation, service improvement, and organizational growth.
  • Ensure operational risks are identified early and appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
  • Support leadership in driving organizational restructuring, scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other operational, administrative, and strategic responsibilities as may be assigned by management.

Experience & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Management, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree and/or professional certifications will be an added advantage.
  • 5–8 years proven experience in operations management, consulting, financial services, professional services, or related industries.
  • Experience working within consulting firms, advisory firms, financial institutions, or training organizations is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams, operational systems, and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Experience supporting grant applications, donor-funded projects, or financing initiatives is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reporting, dashboards, financial analysis, data management, pivot tables, and operational tracking.
  • Hands-on experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Asana, Trello, Monday.com, ClickUp, Notion, Microsoft Project, Slack, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using ERP systems, CRM platforms, operational management systems, or workflow automation tools will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with financial management and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Zoho Books, SAP, Oracle, or related platforms.
  • Working knowledge of data reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio is desirable.
  • Ability to leverage digital tools and technology to improve operational coordination, reporting accuracy, team productivity, and business performance.
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills with the ability to engage executive leadership, partners, clients, investors, donors, and regulatory stakeholders professionally.

Salary
N500,000 - N800,000 monthly.
