Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail oriented and trustworthy Bookkeeper to join our hotel team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling daily hotel inflows, monitoring income and expenses, and preparing financial reports for the Managing Director.
- The Bookkeeper will ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions and support the smooth financial operations of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain accurate daily financial transactions of the hotel.
- Reconcile daily cash inflows, POS transactions, bank deposits, and other revenue sources.
- Monitor hotel income from room bookings, restaurant sales, bar sales, event services, and other operational units.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for the Managing Director.
- Verify and reconcile invoices, receipts, and payment records.
- Maintain proper bookkeeping records using accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Track hotel expenditures and ensure proper financial documentation.
- Assist in payroll preparation and staff payment documentation.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on receivables where necessary.
- Support internal audits and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Work closely with management to identify discrepancies and provide financial insights for decision making.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all financial information.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant, or similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of hotel accounting operations.
- Experience with financial reconciliation and reporting.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify financial discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
