Job Title: Quality Control / Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

• The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for implementing quality assurance and quality control procedures on construction projects to ensure all materials and workmanship comply with approved specifications, standards, and project requirements.
• The candidate must possess practical experience in concrete mix design, batching, testing, and concrete quality management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement QA/QC plans, inspection procedures, and quality control systems for construction activities.
• Supervise and monitor site quality activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Conduct inspections for civil works including concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, and finishing.
• Review and approve concrete mix designs and ensure proper batching procedures are followed.
• Monitor concrete production, slump tests, cube tests, compressive strength tests, and other laboratory testing activities.
• Ensure proper documentation of quality records, inspection reports, material approvals, and test results.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and laboratory teams on quality-related matters.
• Identify non-conformance issues and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Ensure all construction materials meet approved quality standards before use on site.
• Participate in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and regulatory standards during all QA/QC activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in QA/QC within the civil construction industry.
• Strong experience in concrete mix design, concrete testing, batching plant operations, and concrete quality control is mandatory.
• Knowledge of ASTM, BS, ACI, and other relevant construction standards.
• Experience with laboratory testing and quality documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality reporting tools.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Salary
N300,000 - N350,000 per month.
