Job Title: Safety Officer
Location: Ogba, Lagos

Responsibilities
- Conducting Risk Assessments: Regularly carry out risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace. This process helps in analyzing work conditions, tools, and environments that may cause harm.
- Developing Safety Policies: Creating and updating workplace safety policies. These policies ensure employees follow safe practices that comply with local and international standards.
- Ensuring Compliance with Safety Regulations: Ensure that the company follows all relevant safety regulations. This includes monitoring updates in laws and applying necessary changes in the workplace.
- Conducting Safety Training Programs: Organize safety training programs for employees. These sessions educate workers on proper procedures, PPE use, and accident prevention.
- Monitoring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure employees have the right PPE for their tasks and also check that workers use and maintain PPE properly.
- Investigating Workplace Accidents: Investigates workplace accident and the cause. This helps in preventing similar incidents in the future.
- Preparing Accident Reports: Prepare a detailed reports after any incident or near miss. These reports provide valuable data for safety improvements.
- Organizing Emergency Drills: Arrange fire drills, evacuation exercises, and other emergency training. This prepares employees to respond quickly during real emergencies.
- Maintaining Safety Records: Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, training sessions, and incidents. These records help track progress and compliance.
- Monitoring Fire Safety: Ensure fire alarms and extinguishers are regularly inspected and functional. To promote fire safety awareness among employees.
- Managing First Aid Facilities: Ensure first aid kits are available and properly stocked. Provide training to employees in first aid basics.
- Coordinating with Authorities: Act as the link between the company and external safety inspectors. Provide safety help during government offcer'svisit (NSITF) and follow up on recommendations.
- Inspecting Machinery and Tools: Conduct regular inspections to confirm that machines and tools we use to work meet safety standards. Report any unsafe equipment for repair or dispose.
- Monitoring Hazardous Materials Handling: Oversee the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances to reduce health risks for employees (internal and external).
- Implementing Waste Management: Develop systems for safe disposal of industrial and office waste. This ensures compliance with environmental regulations, especially at the site.
- Promoting Health and Hygiene: Encourage workplace hygiene and sanitation, and ensure safe drinking water and clean facilities for employees
