Job Title: Secondary Teacher

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• A secondary school teacher teaches specialized subjects to students, usually between the ages 12–18, and prepares them for examinations and higher education.

Main Duties

• Teach specific subjects such as Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Government, or Literature.
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Conduct classwork, assignments, practicals, and examinations.
• Evaluate students’ academic performance and provide feedback.
• Prepare students for external examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and JAMB.
• Maintain discipline and manage classroom behavior.
• Guide and counsel students on academic and career matters.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and school programs.

Educational Requirements

• Usually requires a B.Ed., B.Sc. Ed., PGDE, or related qualification.
• Professional registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria may be needed.

Salary
N50,000 - N100,000 per month.
