Bosak Microfinance Bank Limited was incorporated in December 2009 with the business objective of providing financial service to micro clients who were excluded from the mainstream financial system. It commenced operations in June 2010 upon obtaining a Unit Microfinance Banking License from the Central Bank of Nigeria. It later obtained a State Microfinance Banking License in 2016. Bosak Microfinance Bank Limited’s financial inclusion effort focuses on promoting savings culture, access to credit facilities for income-generation purposes and reducing vulnerability to risk through micro insurance.

The Bank’s major strategic focus employs the group lending methodology in its operations with a leaning towards women. It believes in the commitment of women folk to work hard and help their families conquer poverty. As such, more than 95% of the Bank’s lending activities focuses on women. The success of the bank’s group lending activities largely depends on group solidarity and cohesion.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Enterprise Risk Management Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Identify operational, financial, credit, compliance, strategic, and reputational risks within the organization.
• Conduct periodic risk assessments and prepare risk reports for management review.
• Monitor risk indicators and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Develop and implement enterprise risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
• Carry out control testing and risk monitoring activities across departments.
• Review business processes and recommend improvements to minimize exposure to risk.
• Support business units in identifying and managing operational risks.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual risk management reports.
• Investigate risk incidents, losses, and policy breaches, and recommend preventive measures.
• Coordinate risk awareness training and sensitization for staff.
• Liaise with Internal Audit, Compliance, and regulatory bodies during examinations and audits.
• Monitor implementation of risk mitigation action plans.
• Maintain the organization’s risk register and update emerging risks regularly.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as:
  • Chartered Risk Management Professional (CRMP)
  • Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
  • ACA, ACCA, CFA, or related certifications will be an added advantage.
• Must have 2–5 years relevant experience in risk management, internal control, audit, or compliance.
• Knowledge of risk management principles and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

• Office-based role with occasional field visits or branch monitoring assignments.
• May require extended working hours during audits, inspections, or reporting periods.
