We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reconciling general ledgers, bank statements and balance sheets
• Analyzing financial data and managing employee or business expenses
• Preparing financial statements for management, shareholders and tax reporting
• Filing business taxes and ensuring compliance with local, provincial and federal regulations
• Conducting internal audits and variance analyses to identify trends or discrepancies
• Forecasting cash flow and making recommendations based on performance data
• Maintaining internal controls and accounting systems to support accuracy and prevent fraud

Requirements
Education and Training Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degrees in Finance, Economics or Accounting for accountant roles with 5 years experience
• Applicants might have include Certified Accountant, Management Accountant, Financial Analyst,Internal Auditor and Fraud Examiner.

Skills and qualifications:

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite and Sage
• In-depth understanding of accounting rules and practices, such as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to work in spreadsheets, with knowledge of formulas and advanced functions, like pivot tables
• Strong mathematical skills
• Expert understanding of financial reports, including analyzing and creating them
• Knowledge of tax regulations
