Job Title: Senior Maintenance Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The successful candidate should possess strong knowledge of Preventive Maintenance (PM), Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies within offshore production environments, as well as hands-on experience using MAXIMO or similar CMMS platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, execution, and optimization of maintenance activities across FPSOs, wellhead platforms, and onshore production facilities.
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for mechanical equipment and production systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance, reliability, and integrity to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Apply RBI and RCM methodologies to enhance asset reliability and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Coordinate maintenance shutdowns, inspections, and turnaround activities.
  • Review maintenance backlog and ensure timely closure of work orders in CMMS.
  • Utilize MAXIMO or a similar CMMS for maintenance planning, work order management, equipment history tracking, and reporting.
  • Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with company maintenance standards, HSE regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with operations, inspection, integrity, and engineering teams to support safe and efficient production operations.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting rotating and static equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
  • Participate in spare parts planning and critical equipment management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ maintenance engineering experience within the upstream oil & gas industry.
  • Hands-on experience supporting FPSOs, offshore platforms, wellhead facilities, and/or onshore production assets.
  • Strong knowledge of: PM, RBI, RCM
  • Asset Integrity Management
  • Familiarity with MAXIMO or similar CMMS platforms.
  • Good understanding of rotating and static equipment maintenance practices.
  • Experience in offshore production systems and maintenance planning.
  • Knowledge of international maintenance and integrity standards/API practices is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary and offshore operational environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with shutdown/turnaround planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment documentation.
