Job Title: Lead, Public Relations - Marketing and Media

Location: Lagos

Description

  • We are looking for a highly strategic, creative and execution-focused Public Relations, Marketing and Media Lead to join the firm. 
  • This is a critical role responsible for creating, sustaining, perpetuating and managing the firm’s marketing, branding and public relations activities.
  • The successful candidate will be tasked with shaping and amplifying the firm’s market presence, strengthening its brand positioning, and ensuring consistent and strategic visibility across key markets. 
  • The firm has not historically engaged in active, structured marketing.
  • This role therefore requires an individual capable of building a marketing and PR platform from the ground up, developing strategy and executing with precision. 
  • The position requires close interaction with senior leadership, including the Managing Partner, and regular engagement with media organisations, journalists and external content partners.
  • Cultural fit is critical, and it is vital that the candidate shares and upholds our values and beliefs.
  • An understanding of financial services, investment banking and wealth management is preferred.

Key Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to
Marketing Strategy & Brand Positioning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with the firm’s growth objectives.
  • Define the firm’s brand positioning across Wealth Management and Investment Banking.
  • Create structured annual marketing and media plans with measurable objectives.
  • Identify target client segments and develop tailored messaging frameworks.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice and positioning across all communication channels.

Public Relations & Media Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors and media platforms.
  • Proactively secure favourable mentions, features and interviews.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and official corporate communications.
  • Manage crisis communication where necessary.
  • Arrange and coordinate interviews and media appearances for senior leadership, including the Managing Partner.
  • Prepare briefing materials and talking points for outward-facing engagements.

Social Media & Digital Presence:

  • Develop and execute a structured social media strategy to increase visibility and engagement.
  • Manage and maintain the firm’s LinkedIn, Instagram, X and other relevant platforms.
  • Create and curate high-quality content to position the firm as a market leader.
  • Monitor analytics and adjust strategy based on performance data.
  • Ensure consistent posting cadence and audience growth.

Content Creation & Asset Development:

  • Oversee creation of digital, video and graphic content to promote the firm.
  • Collaborate with external designers, videographers and content creators where required.
  • Develop thought leadership materials including articles, newsletters and commentary.
  • Support production of client-facing publications and research materials.
  • Ensure high production quality and brand consistency across all materials.

Internal Collaboration & Market Propagation:

  • Work closely with Wealth Management, Investment Banking, Business Development and Leadership teams to identify stories and opportunities for external positioning.
  • Support the propagation of the firm’s achievements, transactions and milestones.
  • Develop campaigns to position the firm within priority client markets.
  • Enhance the firm’s visibility across London, Lagos, Chicago, Abuja and Duba.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • BSc Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Business or related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional marketing/communications certification preferred.
  • Proficient in MacOS Keynote, Numbers and Pages.
  • Excellent ability to speak and write English language.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and content development skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of branding, corporate communications and media positioning.
  • 5–8 years’ experience in PR, marketing, communications or media within financial services, professional services or a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing media relationships and securing favourable press coverage.
  • Experience drafting and distributing press releases and corporate communications.
  • Strong social media strategy and management capability (LinkedIn, X, Instagram and relevant platforms).
  • Experience overseeing the creation of digital assets including video, graphics and branded content.
  • Strong understanding of content strategy, audience targeting and brand positioning.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools, analytics platforms and content scheduling systems.
  • Strong project management and organisational capability.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced team with minimal supervision
  •  Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Highly adaptable, creative and solutions-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior executives.
  • Able to handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proactive, dependable and solutions-focused
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build systems and processes from inception.
  • Mature, reliable and professional.

Salary
N750,000 - N1,000,000 monthly.
