Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Finance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and valuation, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality strategic financial insights.
  • This role requires hands-on experience in developing and reviewing complex financial models, assessing financial risks, and supporting high-value transactions that drive sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and continuously enhance robust financial models and forecasts to support strategic business planning and investment decisions.
  • Critically review and challenge existing financial models, underlying assumptions, and financial trends to improve accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Conduct comprehensive valuation analyses using methodologies such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
  • Lead detailed financial due diligence processes, including synergy assessment, risk identification, and value-enhancing opportunities.
  • Analyze industry trends, financial statements, and market data to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, investment papers, and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising initiatives, and investment strategies, including greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Support the structuring and execution of complex financial transactions, including:
    • International loan syndications
    • Large-scale and structured financing transactions
    • Conglomerate loan portfolio management
    • International lending and cross-border financing arrangements
  • Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, corporate governance standards, and internal risk frameworks in line with industry best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline (a finance-focused degree is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years' relevant experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or Capital Management in Financial services or related industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and accounting practices.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building, reviewing, and validating complex financial models with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of valuation techniques, financial analysis, and risk assessment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modelling tools, and data analysis software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial insights to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Nigerian banking regulation (CBN, NDIC, SEC, Basel)
    • Balance sheet management and profitability drivers
    • Professional Certifications
    • At least one required; multiple preferred:
    • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) - highly preferred
    • ACA/ACCA
    • CIMAFRM/FMVA - added advantage
