Job Title: General Manager - Restaurant Operations

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Job Summary 

  • We are currently seeking a highly experienced, operationally strong, and commercially minded General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of one of the restaurant branches.
  • The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full operations of the restaurant branch, including kitchen operations, food quality control, customer experience, staff supervision, inventory management, sales performance, hygiene compliance, operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • The ideal candidate must possess strong hands-on experience in restaurant management, kitchen coordination, food service operations, team leadership, and customer service management within a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment.

Responsibilities
Restaurant & Operational Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant branch to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure high operational standards across kitchen, dine-in, takeaway, and delivery operations.
  • Drive branch profitability, sales growth, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor daily sales, expenses, wastage, and operational performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company operational standards, policies, and procedures.

Kitchen & Food Operations:

  • Supervise kitchen operations to ensure food quality, consistency, taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service of meals.
  • Monitor food hygiene, cleanliness, food safety, and compliance with health regulations.
  • Manage food cost control, stock utilization, wastage reduction, and inventory processes.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and operational facilities are properly maintained.

Team Leadership & Staff Management:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and manage restaurant and kitchen staff.
  • Prepare staff schedules and manage attendance, punctuality, and discipline.
  • Train and mentor staff to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure strong teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and customer-focused culture.

Customer Experience:

  • Ensure excellent customer service and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer complaints, escalations, and service recovery professionally.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, ambience, and dining experience.

Inventory & Procurement:

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely procurement of food items and operational supplies.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and reconciliation.
  • Minimize operational leakages, wastage, and stock losses.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare operational and performance reports for Management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Management with operational improvement initiatives and branch growth strategies.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years’ experience in restaurant management, hospitality management, or food service operations.
  • Strong experience overseeing both restaurant operations and kitchen management is mandatory.
  • Experience working in a high-volume restaurant, food chain, buka-style restaurant, or hospitality business is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and operational coordination skills.
  • Good understanding of food service operations, inventory management, kitchen processes, and customer service management.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Good reporting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic operational reporting tools is an added advantage.
