Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • The QA Manager is directly responsible for defining and managing the QA Strategy and risks associated with the company's operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implementing, maintaining, and continually improving the company's Quality Management Systems.
  • Developing and leading the operation and promotion of an integrated management system, encompassing a proactive improvement culture in QMS.
  • Reporting on the performance of the QMS at Management Review meetings.
  • Ensuring the effective achievement of the company's QMS objectives and subsequent KPI's.
  • Respond to customer complaints and provide technical assistance, suggesting remedial measures.
  • Specify and implement corrective and preventative action.
  • Preparing Quality plans, Inspection test plans, and inspection schedules for various projects to comply with the client's project requirements.
  • Managing QMS compliance (legal and client's requirements)and implementing the industry's best practices
  • Managing the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization's products.
  • Undertaking QA planning, including the setting of goals, agreeing on priorities, and establishing adequate systems for performance management.
  • Promoting customer requirements and the company's QAculture.
  • Managing the company's risk and opportunities assessment process with all process owners.
  • Assisting in the delivery of comprehensive operational-technical training to promote, develop, and sustain a positive-quality awareness culture throughout business operations,
  • Management of QA processes for subcontractors, suppliers,
  • and service providers.
  • Management of client relationships and expectations relevant to the job role. Maintaining formal and informal communications with clients, sub-contractors, and partners.
  • Developing annual budgets for the QA department.
  • Reviewing technical requisitions and procurement documents for QA compliance.
  • Assisting Project Managers in recruiting QA resources for their projects.
  • Implementation of behavior-based safety culture.
  • Pro-active QA support during tender processes.
  • Interfacing with all relevant QA Authorities.
  • Legislative compliance, ensuring that all QA aspects of the business are conducted in accordance with all relevant statutory requirements and Codes of Practice.
  • Conducting integrated QA audits of corporate processes and operational projects

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Science, or any related field.
  • 12 years' QA experience with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial position.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Relevant training and certification (any of NEBOSH, ISO14001, ISO 45001, ISPON, IOSH, IISRSM, OSH Academy, NSC, etc.)
  • Administrative skills, including proficiency in typical MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of and experience in QA Management Systems, e.g., QMS ISO 9001, EMS ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
