St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is a 64-bed hospital located in Ogungbade off New Ife road in Ibadan. St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is the vision of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena (Italy). We offer various medical services such as: General medicine, internal medicine, O & G, Laboratory, and Radiology, to mention just a few. The hospital is run in collaboration with foreign partners. We are registered and licensed by the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Health. Also, we are accredited by the NHIS as both primary and secondary health care provider.

Job Title: Health Record Management Officer

Job Description

  • St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is seeking a competent, organized, and detail-oriented Health Record Management Officer to manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation, confidentiality, and accessibility of medical information within the hospital.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, retrieving, and safeguarding patient health records in compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, organize, and update patient medical records accurately.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of patient information and clinical reports.
  • Retrieve and distribute patient files to authorized departments when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records at all times.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records before filing.
  • Register new patients and manage patient data within the hospital record system.
  • Assist in data entry, record digitization, and electronic health record management where applicable.
  • Prepare reports and statistical data as required by Management.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and legal requirements regarding patient information.
  • Track missing files and ensure proper accountability of records movement.
  • Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure smooth record management operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the records department.

Education & Professional Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Health Information Management, Health Record Management, or related field
  • Relevant professional certification is an added advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1–2 years relevant experience is preferred
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is an added advantage

Other Requirements:

  • Strong sense of confidentiality and accountability
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
  • Willingness to work shifts or extended hours when necessary.

  • Competitive Salary: N60,000 - N70,000 per month.
