Bosak Microfinance Bank Limited was incorporated in December 2009 with the business objective of providing financial service to micro clients who were excluded from the mainstream financial system. It commenced operations in June 2010 upon obtaining a Unit Microfinance Banking License from the Central Bank of Nigeria. It later obtained a State Microfinance Banking License in 2016. Bosak Microfinance Bank Limited’s financial inclusion effort focuses on promoting savings culture, access to credit facilities for income-generation purposes and reducing vulnerability to risk through micro insurance.

The Bank’s major strategic focus employs the group lending methodology in its operations with a leaning towards women. It believes in the commitment of women folk to work hard and help their families conquer poverty. As such, more than 95% of the Bank’s lending activities focuses on women. The success of the bank’s group lending activities largely depends on group solidarity and cohesion.

Job Summary

  • The Human Resource Officer (Training Officer) is responsible for identifying staff training needs, coordinating learning and development programs, and ensuring employees acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to improve performance and productivity.
  • The role also supports employee onboarding, compliance training, and performance improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify training and development needs through staff assessments, appraisals, and departmental consultations.
  • Develop and implement annual training plans and learning programs.
  • Coordinate orientation and onboarding programs for new employees.
  • Organize internal and external training sessions, workshops, seminars, and capacity-building programs.
  • Prepare training schedules, materials, attendance records, and evaluation reports.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate employee training records and learning databases.
  • Liaise with external training consultants, facilitators, and institutions where necessary.
  • Support performance management initiatives and staff development plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and mandatory training requirements.
  • Assist in preparing HR reports relating to staff training, development, and performance.
  • Support employee engagement and career development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify skill gaps and succession planning needs.
  • Monitor training budgets and ensure cost-effective learning solutions.
  • Provide administrative support for HR activities when required.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor’s Degree.
